The Organizing Committee kindly invites you to participate in the 5^th International Conference to explore the theme of "Libraries, Globalisation and Cooperation", November 3-4, 2004, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Sofia 2004 is part of a highly successful international conference series hosted in Kansas City, Kansas (1995), Warsaw, Poland (1997) and Sofia, Bulgaria (2000 and 2002). The series is designed to explore the impact of globalization and change on the development of libraries, information infrastructures and society.

Organized by the School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State University, Kansas, USA, the Department of Library and Information Sciences, "St Kliment Ohridski" University of Sofia, Bulgaria, "St.st. Cirill and Methodius" National Library - Bulgaria and Union of Librarians and Information Services Officers - Bulgaria. Sofia 2004 will bring together a wide range of experts in library and information infrastructure, technology, international development and policy from Europe, USA and Canada.

Library-Sciences Faculty and Doctoral Students are invited on November 2^nd to attend the Pre-Conference on Globalisation and Cooperation Trends in Library and Information Science Education at the Hotel Rodina, Sofia, Bulgaria. There will be no additional fee for this pre-conference for those registered for the main conference November 3-5.

To support the conference attendance of East European colleagues, a small number of stipends are available. Preference will be given to individuals presenting papers or reports. For conference support, please get in touch with Dr. Alexander Dimchev.
