Ehrenamtliche Kräfte sind in vielen öffentlichen, privaten und kulturellen Bereichen tätig, zunehmend aber auch in Bibliotheken. Hier müssen wir uns dann fragen: Wie sollen die ehrenamtlichen Kräfte eingesetzt werden? Können ehrenamtliche Kräfte ohne bibliothekarischen Hintergrund Aufgaben übernehmen, die eine bibliothekarische Ausbildung erfordern? Wie ist das mit der Wertschätzung von ehrenamtlichen Kräften und der bibliothekarischen Tätigkeit an sich? Volunteers are active in various public, private and cultural fields, increasingly in libraries too. In this case, we have to ask ourselves: How do we make use of volunteers? Can volunteers, without library education, take over jobs where special education or training is necessary? What is the appreciation for the work of volunteers and of library work itself? Il se pose la question à quels départements ces personnes peuvent-ils être attaché, qui souvent manquent d’expérience professionnelle de travail dans une bibliothèque ?
