Essex Libraries has long been subscribers of both BookData's LibWeb and BookFind-Online bibliographical search and discovery tools. The BookFind-Online data service is used by the professional library staff, whilst LibWeb is accessible through the library network for public access. Essex Libraries has been working closely with BookScan on the development and testing of the new BookScan for Libraries Service. By offering Essex Libraries a unique combination of bibliographic search and discovery tools along with BookScan's unique book sales analysis service, BookData has not only been able to secure the renewal of its bibliographic services but has also secured a new subscription for BookScan's Library Service.

The combination of public and professional access to this range of online services provides Essex Libraries with the tools it needs to identify and review titles, whilst being able to analyse essential sales data to ensure stock budgets are spent wisely and effectively. BookScan for Libraries allows library staff to review specific subject areas and therefore assists its selection, buying and management processes - delivering more efficient use of its resources.
