BookScan for Libraries was launched in 2006 and since then has become a tool for librarians, ensuring the most popular new books in each subject area can be identified and purchased. Libraries can also select bestselling backlist titles within classic and specialist interest areas.

Swansea Libraries has been using BookScan for Libraries for over a year to help stock their new central library, which is due to open March 2008. Rebecca Williams, Principal Librarian at Swansea Libraries: "Central Library will carry a huge range of titles on every subject under the sun, from alternative health to zoology. We are intent on ensuring that the choice will be second to none. BookScan for Libraries has been a great help in this process - by using this unique tool we can create bestseller lists in any category."
