Die Bibliothekstheke: Herzstück oder Barrikade?Theken in ihren unterschiedlichen Funktionen sind in den Bibliotheken die wichtigsten Kontaktorte zwischen den BibliothekarInnen und den BenutzerInnen; zugleich stellen sie für die Architekten bevorzugte Objekte der Gestaltung dar. Lending and
Lending and information desks in libraries are
the most important points of contact between
librarians and clients; at the same time they
are, for the architects, preferred objects of design. Lack of insight in the functional needs on
the one side, and fewly developped understanding for the esthetical viewpoints of the architects on the other side, sometimes lead to
unsatisfactory solutions.

Comptoirs d'information
Dans les bibliothèques des comptoirs d'information et de prêt sont des points de contacte
les plus importants entre les bibliothécaires et
les usagers; en même temps, pour les architectes, ils représentent des objets préférés de
projet esthétique. Le résultat d'un manque de
compréhension pour les exigences bibliothécaires d'une part, et d'un manque de compréhension pour la conception esthétique de
l'autre part, mênent parfois à des solutions peu
satisfaisantes.
