Von Melkkühen, lahmen Pferden und toten Tieren: Bibliotheksdienstleistungen in der Portfolio-Analyse

Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt mit der Portfolio- und Lebenszyklus- Methode ein praktisches und anwendbares Instrument zur Bestimmung einer ausgewogenen Produktpalette in Bibliotheken vor. Neben einer allgemeinen Einführung in die Methode werden traditionelle, moderne und innovative Bibliotheksdienstleistungen vor dem Hintergrund von Marktmechanismen und strategischer Bedeutung mit der Portfolio-Analyse untersucht und auf Grundlage verschiedener Bibliothekstypen verglichen.

Of Cash Cows, Poor Dogs and Dead Animals: Library Services in Portfolio Analysis

This contribution presents the portfolio and life cycle method as a practical and readily applicable instrument for identifying a balanced range of products in libraries. In addition to a general introduction to the method, traditional, modern and innovative library services are studied by the portfolio analysis against the background of market mechanisms and strategic significance, and compared on the basis of different library types.

Des vaches à traire, des rossignols et des animaux morts: les prestations de service bibliothécaires dans l'analyse de portefeuille

Cet article présente avec la méthode de portefeuille et du cycle de vie un instrument pratique et applicable pour la détermination d'une gamme de produits bien équilibrée dans les bibliothèques. En dehors d'une introduction générale à la méthode, des prestations de service traditionnelles, modernes et innovatives d'une bibliothèque sont étudiées par l'analyse de portefeuille au vu des mécanismes de marché et de l'importance stratégique et elles sont comparées sur la base de divers types de bibliothèque
