University of Genoa Selects Ex Libris Primo

The intuitive Primo interface will provide users with a one-stop solution for the discovery and delivery of all resources

Ex Libris® Group is pleased to announce that the University of Genoa in Italy has selected the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution. The university library chose Primo from a number of commercial alternatives to provide users with a single point of access to all library resources, regardless of resource type or location.

The sophisticated search and ranking technology of Primo, its intuitive browsing options, and its support for serendipitous discovery enable users to easily find and seamlessly access the resources they need. Content neutral and flexible, Primo empowers libraries to tailor the discovery experience to the needs and expectations of their own user community.

“Primo will enable us to present the electronic, physical, and digital collections of the University in a much more user-friendly way,” commented Antonio Scolari, director of the library at the University of Genoa. With Primo, our electronic resources will be both more visible and more accessible to users, enabling us to improve the level of service that we offer. The comprehensive search interface will simplify discovery and delivery considerably, giving our users one starting point for searching all resources. Lastly, our users will benefit from the most effective discovery experience possible through the unique personalized relevance ranking capability of Primo.”

Liliana Morotti, general manager of Ex Libris Italy, stated: “We are delighted to welcome the University of Genoa to the growing family of Italian institutions that have decided to offer Primo to their user communities. We are confident that with Primo, the University will be able to take its patrons’ research and learning experience to a higher level and will help the University fulfil its educational goals.”
