ProQuest Invites Future Info Pros to Apply for Annual Scholarship

Roger K. Summit Scholarship rewards fresh thinking about digital services
Submissions are due by March 30

ProQuest is now accepting applications for its 2015 Roger K. Summit Scholarship, which will award US$5,000 to a promising graduate student in library and information sciences. Global in scope, the popular scholarship has been awarded annually for more than 20 years to students who envision new, meaningful expansions of and uses for digital information services. The deadline to apply is March 30.

More Information and applications are available here.

“ProQuest is committed to helping libraries make a smooth, successful digital migration,” said Lynda James-Gilboe, ProQuest vice-president, Customer Experience. “To us, that means stepping beyond the creation of products and services to include larger initiatives such as working to attract innovative thinkers to librarianship.”

To qualify, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited library or information sciences program. A panel of ProQuest information professionals will select the winner after reviewing academic achievement, interest and performance in digital services and faculty recommendations. The winner of the Roger K. Summit Scholarship will be announced at the Special Libraries Association's 2015 Annual Conference to be held June 14 – 16 in Boston.

An important element in ProQuest’s extensive Graduate Education Program, the Summit Scholarship is named for Dialog’s founder Roger K. Summit, a pioneer in developing the technology behind online information retrieval. The scholarship was established in 1993 and continues as part of ProQuest’s commitment to support graduate education and engage the next generation of information professionals.
